I got my first tablet Lenovo IdeaPad A1-07 some time ago from http://kupilaptop.com.
After using it for awhile, here are my experiences with it:
- I like the dimensions. It is 7 inch tablet. You can carry it with you everywhere. Definitely, I’ll buy only 7 inch tablets in the future. Ideal proportions!
- When I got the tablet, GPS was not working. I updated to the latest software, but yet it was not working. Then I read on the forums that firstly you should leave the tablet for a long time to detect your position. It lasted few hours! Now, it locates easily.
- Sometimes, it restarts without any reason. This drives me crazy, but that’s it. Take it or leave it. I already bought it and cannot take it back to the store. At least, this is Macedonia. No real customer support here. I wrote to http://kupilaptop.com, but they never answered back, of course.
- Touchscreen is disaster!!! Many times it responds too slowly and sometimes not at all. 1 cm (half an inch) from the edges is the real dead zone. It does not responds there.
- As touchscreen is too slow, keyboard is disaster, too. You cannot write anything serious and anything more than few words. It responds too slow and many times it mixes with ALT characters. I cannot write even longer web addresses. If you try to write more than few words, you’ll have nervous shakedown. Plus, if your type speed is just a normal (not higher), letters block.
- This tablet has no compass. OK, I knew that it doesn’t, but it is ridiculous for tablet to not have a compass.
- It makes you only a light user.
- I cannot find a case (bag) for it here in Macedonia.
- There are no accessories in Macedonia for this tablet.
- Lenovo Shop is nothing but copy of Google’s Play Store. Usually they sell apps there. Not too much free apps to download.
- It costs $199 in foreign countries (some $240 in Macedonia). It’s not too much, but now for the same price you can buy Google’s Nexus 7 tablet.
- It is good for browsing, checking mail and short answers, as well as for some games, too, but definitely is NOT for a serious work.
- You cannot upgrade to higher Android (it is 2.3.4). That sucks, really.
- And finally, it charges 12 (twelve!!!) hours. It is useless while traveling.
CONCLUSION: I will NOT recoment this tablet to anyone to buy it. This was my first Lenovo, ever, but I am done with Lenovo forever!
Bye bye lenovo.com.
